This marks my second year having a Ramadan review at One World Hotel and it tasted as good as ever. This year theme ‘Sajian Nostalgia Bersama Chef’ will bring you on a beautiful discovery journey of Malaysia’s multi-cultural and colourful food heritage. It took Executive Sous Chef, Saiful Baharin Abdul Wahid, fondly known as Chef Bob two months to finalise the menus and together with his dedicated culinary team, they’ve prepared a sumptuous meal that’s set to put our taste buds ablaze.
Upon entering Cinnamon Coffee House, we discovered the charming set up of a ‘local bazaar setting’. The spotlight this year is on stalls and live cooking concept featuring 6 speciality soups to warm our tummy. Along the buffet spread, tantalising choice picks includes Kerabu, Spiced Bubur Lambuk, Murtabak, Pasembur, Rendang Minang, Sup Gearbox, Daging Kawah, Pulut Serawa Durian and lots more. A must try is the Sup Gearbox for its flavoursome broth and Rendang Minang that’s got me hooked for more.
Also included in the buffet spread are eclectic mix of Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Western fare.
There’s also the local hawker delights, mixed grilled items and seafood on ice. The Chicken Rice is a must try dish!
I was in love with the dessert’s area for it includes some of my favourite dishes such as Bubur Pengat Pisang, Bubur Nangka and Sago, Ais Cendol, Ais Kacang. As for my son, he prefers dainty French pastries such as Caramel Peanut Slice, Apricot Short Cake, Mango Yoghurt and Strawberry Cheese Tartlets. There’s also the Baklava, Belgian Waffle and ice cream available as well.
