Since my teenage years, I’ve been a huge fan of GUESS. Their awesome sexy advertising campaigns from the beginning till now still manage to rock my world. When I received an invitation to attend their very first white concept store in Suria KLCC on an evening, I didn’t hesitate and said “YES, it’s definitely worth it to brave the jam for this”!
The celebration of the grand opening of GUESS Malaysia’s first white concept store in Suria KLCC was joined by friends from the media, celebrities, bloggers and VIPS from the fashion industry. See who I spotted doing quirky creative pose – it’s none other than Serena C (although petite, she still stands out: D)
The new GUESS Store covers approximately 2,300 sqft and features clean, bright white themes with contrasting materials and glamorous details that provides a decidedly contemporary feel. It makes for a dynamically changing shopping experience while we look thru the collection of women and men ready-to-wear, handbags, timepieces, jewelry and accessories.
Finally, after we finished browsing the store, it’s time for the party to begun. Started with an energetic dancing performance that got us all dancing on our feet.
Finishing the performance, we moved on to the next programme – GUESS RUNWAY SUMMER showcase! This summer, the women’s summer collection is dominated by light-weight silhouettes including dresses, rompers, button-down tops, tanks and cut-off denim shorts. Overalls with gold button-front detailing, dresses with semi-sheer crochet, maxis with breezy side-slits and shirts with flared sleeves and exposed shoulders undoubtedly add an ‘OOMPH’ of sexiness.
The collection also offers a handful of refined pieces including crisp button-downs, maxi shirt dresses and fitted denim pencil skirts. Denim makes a strong comeback in GUESS this year in the form of skinnies, jumpsuits, tops and overalls in several fits, washes and fabrics with touches of embroidered florals and heavy distressing.
Handbag also comes in various shapes and sizes that includes ultra-mini cross body bags with edgy gold studding and satchels with soft gray python prints mixed with brilliant whites are super trendy. Whilst, structured faux-leather carryalls and classic oversized totes with the GUESS logo are more casual, on-the-go styles.
For the men’s collection it features a selection of statement denim and bomber jackets with eye-catching embroidery. Short and long sleeved button-downs in chambray, denim and linen paired with crisp white denim jean. To pair the denim style, light-weight sweaters and tees with black and white stripes and checks are absolutely perfect. I was definitely in awe by the whole collection and can easily imagine myself wearing it to the beach or for a summer pool party!
