Ramadan is a time of feasting with our friends and Armada Petaling Jaya is proud to present “Berbuaka Puasa”at their Utara Coffee House with a special themed “SINAR RAMADAN”. I was invited to attend the review together with a friend to enjoy the gastronomic feast ahead featuring mouth-watering traditional and international favourites. There’s more than 100 dishes available and a big hand goes to Executive Chef, Chew Teik Chye and his team for showcasing a wide selection of dishes that emphasizes on a variety of flavours.
We kick start our gastronomic journey with an appetizing assortment of starters from Kerabus, Cincalok to, Lemang, Pasembor and Aneka Jeruk. At Utara Coffee House, there are more than several types of innovative Kerabu creations such as Kerabu Mangga, Kerabu Sotong, Kerabu Kacang Botol and Kerabu Kaki Ayam. I definitely went a little crazy tasting all of it. There’s also the variety of classic Sambals for us to dip in as well.
For the mains, there were signature Ramadan classics such as Asam Laksa, Nasi Rempah Berlauk, Udang Klieo, Ketam Masak Gulai Siam, Ayam Golek, Pucuk Paku Masak Ikan Masin, Kari Kepala Ikan, Daging Masak Serai, Ikan Sembilang Panggang Berlada , Rendang Itik, Sup Tulang Rusuk, Nangka Muda Masak Lemak, Sotong Masak Kunyit dan Serai and the all-time favorite Siput Sedut Masak Cili Padi.
At the Bakar-Bakar area, we found favourites dishes like Apam Balik, Roasted Lamb, Assorted Satay, Murtabak, Lidah Sapi with Air Asam, Ayam Percik Panggang, Roti Durian and loads more. A must try is the Roti Durian which is crisp and chewy.
Being a huge fan of dessert, I was not disappointed as the varieties include traditional Malay Kuih, French pastries and tempting sweet delicacies such as Pengat Pisang, Bubur Pulut Hitam, Ais Kacang and Bubur Cha-Cha. Quench our thirst with the beverages available that includes Cincau, Kelapa Muda, Jagung, Kembang Semangkuk, Selasih and more.
