The month of Ramadhan has begun and today I’m posting my review at JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur. This year staying true to the Malay tradition, JW Mariott Kuala Lumpur has aptly named their theme ‘Kampung Dining’. The Ramadhan Buffet will feature 138 of the most popular and classic Malay dishes customarily served during Ramadhan.

Together with my family, we headed to The Poolside (Level 6) to find the area transform into a mini Ramadhan bazaar (do note that the buffet serves today is not the complete menu). We were also informed that another buffet will be made available from 6th June onwards at Starhill Conference Center (Level 4). Both of the area will be transformed into a bazaar to replicate a kampung ambience.

For today, we had some of the Gerai Makanan Tradisi dan Selera Kampung that include include Tongkeng Ayam Goreng Bercili, Daging Salai Masak Lemak Bachang and Sambal Udang Petai. There’s also the extensive spread of authentic Malay cuisine ‘Ulam’ or salad selection such as Petai, Kacang Botol, and Ulam Raja complemented by local dressings such as Sambal Belacan, Cincaluk, Budu and Tempoyak.
My husband favourite was the Roast Lamb which he dip with some mint and black pepper sauce.

I love acar thus tried several of the the Acar Buah and Acar Jelateh available *yums*. Apart from these, I also checked out some of the local favourites featured at the stalls such as Nasi Dagang, Satay, Ikan Bakar, Ayam Tandoori, Roti Canai, and many more. The satay is a must try for it’s well marinated and extremely juicy.
Together with my son, we both tried the live action station ‘Gerai Mee’ and ordered a small portion of assam laksa and mee jawa. Feel free to select your own condiments to alleviate the taste of the dish. Both of the noddles are equally tasty and my son loved the mee jawa soup.
Ended the night enjoying a cup of Teh Tarik together with the variety of desserts and fruits displayed at the dessert area. We were spoilt with choice as it features mango pudding, sago, pandan jelly, strawberry mousse and assorted Malay kuih.
