Batman vs Superman – Dawn of Justice is undeniable one of the ‘Must Watch’ movie in my list for this year. Glad to be invited to attend the press screening with the media at 1U, TGV recently. The best part I get to watched it way earlier than anyone and it was in 3D (super awesome)!
Movie Synopsis:
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with each other, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it has ever known before.
Directed by Zack Snyder and based on characters from DC Comics, this is ‘the movie’ all DC comic fans are waiting for and high expectations is set for this. Starring Ben Affleck (“Argo”) as Batman/Bruce Wayne as a disillusion vigilante who seeks vengeance against Superman for the death of his loved ones. The character requires Ben Affleck to showcase the darker demon behind the mask who was willing to risk everything to killed Superman. Weaving between good and borderline evil, I would say Ben Affleck delivers quite a commendable effort.
Reprising his role as Superman/Clark Kent is Henry Cavill. A reluctant superhero who was thrown into the spotlight after his war with General Zod. In this movie, the character has to battle with his emotion to save or leave mankind alone. It was often mentioned in the movie, that being a superhero his character is completely flawless. However, in this movie even Superman has to make tough decisions and be selfish for once. Henry Cavill did a good job and utterly convincing in his role.
The evil character Lex Luthor portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg was quite painful to watch. His character seems more like a psychopath and I dislike the fact that he’s using a lot of hands movement whenever he talks which is rather distracting. However, it might have been scripted for him to act the way he is.
This movie also introduces one of the member of Justice League and it’s Wonder Woman/Diana Prince portrayed by Gal Gadot. Although her appearance was brief but I hoped to see more of her soon.
My verdict: Although the storyline seems kinda draggy (at certain parts) and geographically jumbled up, I still enjoyed the movie. This is a movie filled with action sequences that’ll get you excited and romantic drivels that got me sappy. Director Zack Synder did a great effort to keep the storyline interesting by using flashback, demonic figures and really really creepy music in this movie (seriously some of the audiences jumped during certain scenes). The ending will get you thinking whether there’s a part 2 (which I hope so). So, hurry to the nearest cinema and catch Batman vs Superman Dawn Of Justice today!
