Plaza Shah Alam’s annual beauty pageant, Pencarian Wanita Melayu (PWM) reaches its exciting finals at Plaza Shah Alam yesterday. Held on Mother’s Day, in tandem with various activities organised in the month of May where it is all about celebrating women who care and nurture us amid the occasions of Teacher’s Day and Nurse’s Day as well. Running successfully on its third year, this significant event is a competition amongst Malay women who are out to prove that they are the ultimate Malay woman living and succeeding as a professional in the modern era while still holding on to her traditions and cultural roots.
The judges at the pageant include celebrity judges Vanida Imran & Dynas Mokhtar. I’m also proud to mention that my fellow blogger friend Ms .Marini Mat Zain was also on the panel of judging as well. The exciting finale kicks off with a spectacular costume parade by the contestants which includes Batik and traditional wear of each State by Jabatan Kebudayaaan Kesenian Malaysia and Traditional Wear by Bahari Asyek. The breathtaking attire designed by Bahari Asyek is just gorgeous. Finalist was also styled in HABIB Aura collection, which is a special collection for women in hijab in Malaysia.
After the costume parade it’s time for the Q& A session with the judges. This session will be the determine who will walked away as Top 3 winners and two other titles namely Miss Photogenic and Miss Personality. It will be tough for the judges to decide as each contestant strove to outshine each other. As we wait in baited breath, the winners are finally announced. Congratulations goes to the below winners:
