Tantalizing Pastries By Anchor Brands At Local Bakeries

Cheese lovers are up for a major indulgent sweet treat with the launched of the second phase of ‘Anchor Say Cheese campaign’ organised by Fonterra Foodservices Malaysia. A first of its kind activity which includes partnering with selected bakery partners to create an exclusive assortment of Anchor-branded desserts that will get you salivating for more.

The limited edition pastries are created by Fonterra’s own in-house patisseries chefs using top quality real butter, cream cheese, milk and cream from Anchor range. This time around the new selection of desserts are based on a European theme and feature delicious sweet breads. Made available across the country, I was stoked to be given a chance to head to Malacca to sample the fine offerings at Patisfrance Boulangerie.

Our first bread tasting was Lady Marmalade.

A sweet bread with an orange cream cheese filling topped with orange candied peel that carries a tinge of bitterness. Simply indulgent!

Next, was another bread known as First Love

Soft and silky, this sweet bread is coated with brown sugar and filled with brown sugar cream cheese. Even I can’t resist the temptation of biting into this soft silky pastry filled with oozing creamy cheese.

Followed by desserts and we had Cheeznie and Almond Rosa cake.

Each cake was unique and is made with natural flavouring . Cheeznie is a cream cheese sandwiched between two slices of decadent chocolate brownies and topped with chopped walnuts. Whilst, Almond Rosa features a nutty almond butter sponge cake with a rich layer of cream cheese. Both are soft and smooth and just melts in my mouth.

After sampling the delicious pastries we wondered about the concept behind the unique names for each dessert. It was revealed that the theme for this year is “Connecting with Loved Ones” thus the names are carefully crafted to suit it. Using the finest Anchor’s range of products, customers are definitely in for a special treat.
