Ever think how Venezuelan food tasted like? If yes, head over to Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre, who is hosting a 10-day Venezuela Gastronomic Festival from October 22 to 31, to celebrate the 10th Venezuelan Week in Malaysia organised with the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The aim of the festival is to enhance the public image of Venezuela and to introduce its arts, culture and food into the Malaysia market. It is also to promote Venezuela as an exciting travel destination. Be prepared to feast on an array of iconic Venezuelan dishes prepared by guest chefs from Venezuela, Enrique Limardo and Federico Tischler, who both lead the kitchen of Alma Cocina Latina, a Venezuelan restaurant in Baltimore, USA.
The lavish and delicious Venezuelan buffet dinner is served at Eccucino, Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre’s. I was invited there to have a taste of this tantalizing Venezuelan flavors feast. Some of the well-known Venezuelan food available are Arepa (cornmeal cake), Empanada (deep fried, stuffed corn flour patties), Cassava bread, Cachapas, Arroz Con Coco (coconut rice); main course such as Asado Negro (roasted beef), Polvorosa de Pollo (chicken pot pie), Skate fish stew; and desserts Quesillo (caramel flan), Marquesa (Venezuelan Chocolate Cake).
I was certainly spoilt for choice as there were so many varieties of Venezuelan food. One must definitely try their tantalizing and appetizing sauces such as guacamole and avocado green pepper. Mix it together with the dishes – a burst of wonderful flavors of sweetness, saltiness and sourness will set your palate afire. I would personally recommend appetizers such as Seafood Cocktail. For main dishes, try the Brochetas de langostinos en salsa de tamarindo (shrimp brochettes with tamarind sauce), Polvorosa de Pollo (chicken pot pie) and Asado Negro (roasted beef).

As for desserts, which is smashingly yummy try Quesillo (caramel flan), Marquesa (Venezuelan Chocolate Cake) and Torta Maria Luisa (Guava Cake).
The Venezuela Gastronomic Festival will end on 31st October, 2015 at Eccucino. Dinner is serve from 6.30pm to 9.30pm and is priced at RM125.95; which includes an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring traditional starters, main courses, side dishes and desserts. For reservations, contact the below:
